what would be a good LED system for all types of corals????? tank size is 125 but would also like to see what one would be for 55gal right now im running
    1x 24" T5 Quad fixture
    2x 24W T5 HO lamps 10000K
    2x 24W T5 HO lamps Actinic Blue
    4x LED
on my 55gal but i was told and that is why im asking that is not enough for most coral possible ok for softies and stuff but the really nice coral....so if anyone can help me whats a good lighting LED if could be for all types or coral and i mean all types of coral......websites will be looked at if given....
    thank you

Jauld The 2 I linked above are quite expensive, however they also have years of research and development, extensive experience in the industry, offer great customer service, and are very respected. If you consider the costs of say running a metal halide light for the 50,000 hours you get out of these, you will have had to replace the bulbs 25 times (2000 hours per bulb), and if you take the average cost of a bulb, say $50, it will have costed $1250 in bulbs alone. Then you have to add in the electricity costs....hahahah

bluewaterbruce Thanks guys. It does get attention, and everything is magnified a little so it gets a little more maintenance than normal.

reefman46 @ jaqueline hey there stranger i see we are not friends on facebook no more i thought i said something to offend you lol...yea my fuorescents died on me so i had to switch to my halides and the they had new bulbs so they went into shock but i took them down on time, my zoanthids and the rest are coming back slowly

jacquelinet LOL, no, you didn't do anything :) The reefman46 page doesn't give me the option to add as a friend, only to "Like" the page. Maybe you need to add me as a friend? https://www.facebook.com/jacqueline.tomkins . I had a similar problem when I first got my LEDs. If they don't turn white from burn they just tend to retreat. Mine took about a week - 10 days to come back fully. I am glad you caught it in time before they burned. I actually have t5s in between my LED units to make it more versatile for coral placement. But I have to say, I am tossing them when I upgrade to the new AI Vegas! I really an excited that they will be available soon :)

SpyderSpy6 Can you raise the height of the halides? this way you don't have to adjust your tank, just lower the fixtures with time.

Torosax damn, lol.. I need to log into this more often so that I can keep up since I keep commenting on old photos/comments haha.. but yeah I like this look much better! Also agree on the idea of a larger refugium still.. one thing to remember also with the idea of the frag section.. you don't need a whole lot of length to it since you'd got the whole depth of the tank of the tank to put in your frag rack..
    Apr 22
reefman46 i have room to put a frag rack in my sump but i dont keep the light in the sump on all day it turns on when my tank lights go out...

reefman46 wow now your trying to impressed me cause i like this one, ok you have to tell me who did your first drawing your kid cause you are improving lmao

Jauld I like this idea as well, but im not 100% sure what the deal is with 2nd chamber from the left - what is that gray oval thing? Also, I dont understand the point of the really tall first chamber - I have some experience with building sumps, and depending on the GPH rating of your pump, water falling from that high is going to make some noise. Again, I would recommend making the overflow chamber and the skimmer section one. There is no reason to separate them - as long as the depth of the chamber stays consistent, the skimmer will work perfect. Microbubbles do not effect skimmer performance what so ever, so adding a bubble trap before the skimmer section is completely useless. Interesting concept though, you are getting better. I have yet to see the third design which you have already posted. Checking it out now ;)
    Apr 19
jonathans the gray oval is frag area....the tall intake would not be noisy for the fact that the intake pipe goes almost down to bottom then bubbles up........ the only problem that there might be is that the pressure from the taller tank it might cause a problem....... but you would not let the water fall from that high... if you are talking about going from the intake to the skimmer chamber there would be a pipe that the water flows through which would prevent splashing and noise......(jonathans bro)
